How a bill gets lighter

A request on Payrabao is a real bill with a real due date. Here is every step it takes, and who does what.

The four steps

  1. Step 1: Ask with a photo of the bill

Lorna photographs her Meralco bill. The app reads the amount, account number and due date, and she writes a few lines about why she needs help.

  2. Step 2: We check it, every time

Her government ID, the bill against what she typed, the biller, and a person on our team. Most requests clear review within a day.

  3. Step 3: People chip in

She shares the private link in the family group chat, or makes the request public in the app. Each helper gives what they can, from ₱20.

  4. Step 4: We pay Meralco directly

When the bill is covered, or on the due date, Payrabao pays Meralco and posts the receipt for Lorna and for every helper.

Asking and helping

If you need help with a bill

  • Pick what it is for. Electricity, water, tuition, a hospital bill, a goal like a team's travel fund, or an occasion like a debut gift.
  • Photograph the bill. The app reads the biller, account number, amount and due date. You confirm them or fix them.
  • Say why, in a few lines. Choose private (only people with the link) or public (shown to helpers in the app).
  • Share the link. Your request goes live once a reviewer approves it.

If you want to help

  • Swipe through verified requests in the app, or open a link someone sent you. No account is needed to give from the web.
  • Pick an amount, from ₱20, or cover the rest of the bill in one go.
  • Pay with QR Ph, GCash, Maya or a card. Fees are shown line by line before you pay. See the rates.
  • Choose who sees your name, and leave a message of up to 140 characters.

What each status on a request means

  1. 01

    In review

A reviewer checks the ID, the bill and the biller.

  2. 02

    Live

Visible to people with the link, or in the app feed if public.

  3. 03

    Covered

Gifts reached the goal. No more gifts are taken.

  4. 04

    Paying

Payrabao sent one payment to the biller for the whole bill.

  5. 05

    Paid

The biller confirmed it received the payment.

  6. 06

    Posted

The payment shows on the account. Receipts go out.

When the due date comes first

If a bill is not fully covered by its due date, Payrabao pays the biller everything raised so far, on time. The request is marked partly paid, and the requester can pay the rest themselves with GCash. Helpers are not refunded, because their gifts already went to the bill.

One payment per bill

Payrabao does not forward each gift as it arrives. It pays the biller once per request, when the bill is covered or due, so the biller sees one clean payment against one account.
